The Justice Learning Center

The Justice Learning Center is LSNYC’s educational and professional development arm dedicated to providing public interest legal and social justice communities with legal education, professional development opportunities, and varied resources to enhance the quality of legal representation for underserved communities. Through education, we fight poverty to achieve racial, social, and economic justice by challenging institutional systems that cause and perpetuate it.

About our programming:

We are a principal source of CLE classes for poverty law practitioners in New York City and State, including nonprofit organizations, government agencies, elected officials’ offices, and attorneys in private practice.

Our classes are taught by experienced instructors, including LSNYC’s experts, law school professors, and leading lawyers from the public interest and private bar. They encompass a wide range of civil practice areas including immigration, employment, education, housing, government benefits, economic justice, family law and community and economic development. Now, through LSNYC’s immigration network, we deliver virtual trainings to a national network of immigration practitioners.

We seek to create inclusive learning environments that are participant centered. We are committed to ensuring diverse, equitable, and inclusive educational programming for all who attend.
