Legal Services NYC Announces Major Step Forward for Citywide Pro Bono Program
January 22, 2014, New York, NY—LSNYC is pleased to announce that Adam Jackson Heintz, Esq., has been hired as the organization’s first dedicated Director of Pro Bono Services. As Director of Pro Bono Services, Adam will create and manage dynamic litigation and advocacy projects that partner pro bono volunteers with LSNYC advocates, serving as a direct liaison between LSNYC and volunteers at law firms and corporations. He will also supervise LSNYC’s participation in the Emeritus Program, and develop programs targeted at volunteer law students.
Prior to joining LSNYC, Adam spent six years as a litigation associate at Morrison & Foerster, LLP, where he maintained an active pro bono docket and served on the Pro Bono Advisory Council for New York Lawyers for the Public Interest. He is also a founding member of the Brooklyn Family Defense Project’s Associate Advisory Board. Previously, Adam was employed for five years in the non-profit world, where he focused on violence in LGBT communities.
“I am thrilled that Adam has joined LSNYC as our inaugural Director of Pro Bono Services,” said Raun Rasmussen, LSNYC’s Executive Director. “He has the vision and experience to strengthen and expand our pro bono relationships, and a deep dedication to social and economic justice that makes him a great fit for LSNYC.”
“I am honored to join LSNYC and look forward to creating a thriving pro bono program that builds on our already substantial private partnerships,” said Adam. “I believe that a successful pro bono program is one that expands and improves crucial services to our clients, eases the crowded schedules of our attorneys, and provides private attorneys and volunteers with meaningful experience. With its massive base of clients in need, and its hundreds of talented advocates, LSNYC is uniquely positioned to leverage the resources of private attorneys.”
