Staten Island Legal Services
Staten Island Legal Services (SILS), was founded in 2004 in response to rising poverty levels on Staten Island. SILS focuses on both individual and systemic advocacy, outreach and community education. With almost 40 dedicated and highly-trained staff, SILS assists thousands of low-income individuals and families a year. Our staff works closely with the communities we serve and regularly conducts outreach and community education and builds relationships with community leaders and organizers, to achieve holistic solutions for our clients.
Conveniently located near the St. George transportation hub, SILS addresses the unique challenges faced by low income Staten Island residents, historically underserved in the forgotten borough and geographically isolated from the rest of New York City.
